Charlie Henke

Partner

Charlie Henke is the founding partner of Henke Law Firm, LLP, the predecessor to Henke & Williams, LLP. Under his guidance, this Houston-based law firm aggressively pursues the best results for its clients.

Charlie enjoys a robust business litigation practice with extensive experience prosecuting and defending breach of contract, quantum meruit, promissory estoppel, breach of warranty, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of duty of loyalty and fraud cases. His practice transcends industries such that he has handled such cases in the hospitality, energy, chemical, healthcare, construction, banking, and real estate fields. Charlie routinely handles business litigation matters on both sides of the docket in the commercial setting.

Charlie has first-chaired many of these disputes to verdict before Texas judges and juries in both state and federal court. Moreover, he recently concluded 8 years of service on the State Bar of Texas Standing Committee for Pattern Jury Charges for Business, Consumer and Employment cases. As a member of that prestigious committee, he helped draft the questions submitted to juries across the state for business litigation cases. He has also arbitrated many of these disputes across the United States and has served as an arbitrator in several matters.

Charlie is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. This is a certification held by less than 1% of the attorneys in Texas. He has been selected by the judiciary and his peers as AV Preeminent rated by Martindale Hubbell (the highest possible rating in both legal skill and ethical conduct) and has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer in 2007, 2009-2023. Charlie and the firm are listed in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.

Charlie is a member of various sections of the State Bar of Texas including the Litigation, the Real Estate, and Probate and Trust Law. He belongs to the Houston Bar Association and is active in the Litigation (Chairman 2015-2016), the Appellate, and the Probate, Trusts and Estates sections of the HBA. Charlie is a member of the college of the State Bar of Texas and a Life Fellow of both the Texas and Houston Bar Foundations. Charlie has been a member of the Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas since 1994. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (member of the national board of directors), TEX-ABOTA (Treasurer 2018-2020, Secretary 2021, Vice President 2022), and the Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists.
